Anne Hathaway has revealed the long but ultimately exhilarating process that she went through to be cast as Catwoman (also known as Selina Kyle) in "The Dark Knight Rises," directed by Christopher Nolan, who is also one of the film’s screenwriters and producers. Nolan’s movies are famous for being shrouded in secrecy while they are being filmed — and "The Dark Knight Rises" is no exception. Cast and crew members have to sign confidentiality agreements, and details about the movie's plot are kept closely guarded secrets. "The Dark Knight Rises" (which arrives in movie theatres on July 20, 2012) is the third Batman film directed by Nolan, and it is the follow-up to the 2008 blockbuster hit "The Dark Knight."

諾蘭在影片拍攝的過程當中總是以保密出名，
在新作中當然也不意外。
不論演員或工作人員都得簽保密條款，
電影的細節與主軸經過了層層的保護。
明年七月上映的<<黎明升起>>將是諾蘭第三部蝙蝠俠電影，
也是2008年的熱賣大作<<黑暗騎士>>的後續作品。
Filming of "The Dark Knight Rises" is currently taking place in Pittsburgh. On August 9, 2011, I caught up with Hathaway during a roundtable interview at the New York City press junket for her romantic drama "One Day." I asked Hathaway about her Selina Kyle/Catwoman role in "The Dark Knight Rises," keeping in mind that she cannot reveal spoilers. The first official photo of Hathaway as Catwoman has already been released. And if "The Dark Knight Rises" is anything like the comic books, then Selina will be a love interest/nemesis to Batman, also known as Bruce Wayne (played by Oscar winner Christian Bale).

What was "The Dark Knight Rises" casting process like for you? And how would you describe your interpretation of Selina Kyle?

I can’t talk about the interpretation because that is just a hermetically sealed secret. [She says jokingly] If you want to take on Chris Nolan, you’re more than welcome to.

The casting process for "The Dark Knight Rises" was Chris met with a bunch of girls to have a general [reading]. And then he culled the list down three-and-a-half months later to do screen tests. So everyone with XX chromosomes [women] in Hollywood was sitting on pins and needles for three-and-half months.
在<<黎明昇起>>選角的過程中，諾導面試了一堆女孩，好先有個底。
然後他選出一份名單，接下來的三個半月就正式試演。

Then I understood he screen-tested a few of us. He tested on a Thursday, and I think the [2011] Golden Globes were that Sunday. And I didn’t mean to, but wherever I went, I just kept bumping into Chris. "I swear I’m not stalking you. I’m not trying to force your hand. I’m not reading anything into anything." But it was really nice because a bunch of people I had screen-tested with, like Wally [Pfister] the DP [director of photography] and Jordan [Goldberg] the producer — they were all nominated for "Inception." I saw them that night, and they all made a point of coming up to me to tell me how well I did.

So I thought it had gone well, but you never want to get your hopes up too high. And so a few days later, I was back in Brooklyn, my manager called me, and she goes, "Meow." And I was like "Ha ha! Oh no, wait! Really?" And she said, "Yes." And I just celebrated! Celebrated! It was one of the best days of my life.
所以我覺得我應該做得不錯，但這種事情本就不該有過高的期待。
